The task is aimed to improve actually implemented process to read modbus devices and handover data through MQTT.

The required process should allow to configure the readings and mqtt topic assignment through a csv file.

Actually we have to differen kind of flows, one is dedicated to read mainly Modbus Devices (Modbus TCP) and another to read IOT sensors via Lora/Mqtt data stream (in our application all lora data are managed via mqtt data).

All our applications are based on a data model configured by the mqtt topic structure, is therefore imperative that the modbus readings allow to transfer the data to the Mqtt broker using a specific topic structure. this process especially in presence of a large number of modbus parameters could be very difficult to configure and manage.

The process we use in iot sensors readings, is currently using an excel spreadsheet that allows to define the mqtt topic for each data and at the same time to also define the modbus parameters so that the data model can be easily keep under control
